Message from Provost Akridge
June 4, 2020
Welcome to the inaugural Protect Purdue Weekly Briefing. The goal of this newsletter is to educate, inform and engage our Purdue community as we prepare our University of more than 40,000 students and 12,000 faculty and staff for a safe return to campus this fall.
As we work through many, many details in the coming weeks and months, the Protect Purdue Implementation Team has one mission — to make the best possible decisions for the health and safety of our Boilermaker community.
We know decisions are coming fast and that you have many questions — and ideas. That’s why we want this newsletter — and its companion Protect Purdue website — to be your primary source of information to keep you updated as decisions are made and details become available. And, we are always anxious to hear your questions, concerns and ideas here: protectpurdue@purdue.edu.
My thanks in advance for all you will do to continue to help us safely ramp up our teaching and research activity over the coming months.
Best regards,
Jay T. Akridge
Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Diversity
