Building access and operational adjustments until Jan. 19
With the conclusion of on-site instruction for the semester, some operational adjustments are being made on the West Lafayette campus due to decreased campus activity.
Building access
Residence halls will be locked and available by card swipe access only now through Jan. 18, 2021. Academic and administrative buildings will remain open, except holidays and winter recess days, and will follow the unlock/lock schedule below. Centrally scheduled classrooms will remain open when buildings are unlocked.
Nov. 30-Dec. 19
- Weekdays: Buildings unlocked at 7 a.m. and locked at 6 p.m.
- Weekends: Buildings locked; card swipe access available if applicable.
Dec. 20-Jan. 3
- University Holidays: Buildings locked; card swipe access determined by access control manager.
- Winter Recess Days: Buildings locked; card swipe access available if applicable.
Jan. 4-17
- Weekdays: Buildings unlocked at 7 a.m. and locked at 6 p.m.
- Weekends: Buildings locked; card swipe access available if applicable.
Jan. 18
- University Holiday: Buildings locked; card swipe access determined by access control manager.
Exceptions to the above schedule include the following:
- Athletics facilities.
- Buildings that house library operations; hours are available online.
- Córdova Recreational Sports Center; hours are available online.
- Purdue Research Foundation facilities.
- Stewart Center and Purdue Memorial Union; hours are available online.
If other building access arrangements need to be made, please coordinate with your building deputy.
Jan. 19
- Standard building access procedures resume.
Mail and deliveries
Full shipping and receiving operations will be in place during regular business hours with the exception of holidays and winter recess days. There will be no shipping and receiving to and from campus on holidays and winter recess days.
Other operational adjustments
Based on building occupancy, some adjustments to cleaning schedules and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) settings may be made. All HVAC settings will continue to align with industry standards and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance.
During periods of low activity, Facilities Operations will be performing building walk-throughs and flushing water lines following standard procedures.
Prior to the start of on-campus instruction in January, HVAC settings and cleaning schedules will be resume the same protocols followed during the fall semester.
