Letters to Our Residents

Complete Online Form and Credits

March 20, 2020

Dear University Residences Student,

Thank you for your patience this week as we developed a plan to credit your account for those of you who move out early this semester. We are pleased to announce that we will provide a credit in the amount of $750 to be applied to the current and future balance of the student account for all students who check out by or are not remaining in University Residence after March 30. If you have not already completed the online form to share your intentions to move out, please do so here as it helps us to plan for the safety of the remaining community.

We understand that some students are unable to commit to an actual check out date at this time and ask that you also complete the online form by March 24 to let us know your plans.

If you complete this form by this March 24, you will still be eligible for the credit and we will process it once you have officially checked out of your room.

We are also happy to share that we will be rolling all unused Dining Dollars to next fall so that you can continue to use them on campus.

Students who are graduating can request the $750 credit and Dining Dollar amount be refunded. If you are graduating, work with the Bursar to manage your student account. Note that there may be financial aid requirements that need to be met prior to refunds being issued. We are so very sorry that your spring semester in residence had to end so abruptly, but your health and safety, and the safety of our overall Purdue community is our highest priority. Beyond your great experiences on campus, you have been the beneficiary of the lowest room and board rates in the Big Ten – rates that are lower than they were in 2012. We also hope that the connections you made and the learning that took place in Purdue’s residence halls last a lifetime, and that you stay connected with the people on your floor through the various social media sites you have used this year.

We wish you the very best as you complete your semester remotely. And, we are really looking forward to welcoming you back to University Residences next fall. For our graduating seniors, we congratulate you. Rest assured, your plaque will be placed on your door!
