New process for ordering COVID-19 essential supplies will begin July 13
COVID-19 essential supplies include face masks, hand sanitizer and disinfectants. The process for ordering and receiving these essential COVID-19 supplies will change for all West Lafayette campus units, departments, colleges, schools and research groups as of Monday (July 13). Procurement Services was instrumental in getting supplies located and obtained quickly when global demand was high. However, these supplies are no longer limited in the marketplace and should be easy to procure.
The current COVID-19 Essential Supplies Order Form will close as of 3 p.m. on Thursday (July 9). Orders placed before that time will be delivered to the selected campus facility on Friday (July 10) by Materials Management and Distribution staff.
Beginning July 13, all units, department, colleges, schools and research groups will have two new options to order essential supplies — either through regular purchasing methods using Ariba catalog suppliers or through a campus storeroom managed by Fisher Scientific. Costs will be charged to the ordering department, and Ariba orders will be shipped and delivered to the recipient. All COVID-19 supply purchases should be tracked using COVID-IO processes.
Fisher Scientific — a contracted scientific and laboratory supply vendor with Purdue — will regularly stock essential COVID-19 supplies as well as research-specific items such as nitrile gloves, ethanol, alcohol, low lint wipes, face shields and anti-fog spray and wipes at its two West Lafayette campus storerooms. Fisher Scientific storerooms are in Lilly Hall of Life Sciences (LILY) and Wetherill Laboratory of Chemistry (WTHR). Supplies may be purchased on a walk-in basis 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday with no preordering required.
Contact Procurement Services at purchasingrequest@purdue.edu if essential supplies are unavailable through Ariba suppliers or the Fisher Scientific storerooms.
Researchers may continue to order face shields through the online Face Shields Order Form.
Additional information about obtaining essential supplies is available online. Questions about the transition of ordering essential supplies may be directed to Procurement Services at purchasingrequest@purdue.edu.
