Protect Purdue encourages updated COVID-19 booster, seasonal flu shot  

The Protect Purdue Medical Advisory Team encourages the campus community to receive the seasonal flu shot as well as the updated COVID-19 booster. Flu shots are available at the Purdue University Student Health Center, the Center for Healthy Living and Purdue Pharmacy.

PUSH and CHL have not yet received information from the Indiana State Department of Health as to when Purdue sites will receive the updated COVID booster. This updated, or bivalent, booster from both Moderna and Pfizer offers protection from the newer Omicron variants of COVID-19. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has provided guidance on who should receive the new booster. In general, those 12 years of age and older who have completed the initial series of vaccination are eligible. 

The Indiana State Department of Health maintains a list of sites providing the new bivalent booster here. You may also find that other local pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens, Meijer, Kroger/Payless and Walmart may be providing the new booster. Please check the pharmacy’s website for availability and appointments.
