Purdue Recreation & Wellness to begin reopening facilities July 29
Purdue Recreation & Wellness will reopen the Córdova Recreational Sports Center (Co-Rec) in a limited capacity to members on Wednesday, July 29.
The re-opening will include a maximum capacity, with members required to make a reservation before accessing the facility. Visitation is limited to students as well as faculty, staff and alumni members who had active memberships prior to closure. Guest passes will not be sold. New de-densifying, distancing and disinfecting measures have been implemented in accordance with the Protect Purdue plan to ensure the health and safety of all members.
All guests will be required to wear face masks at all times when using RecWell facilities and spaces, including during exercise. The mask requirement includes the pool deck, though masks may be removed when entering the water.
Changes to RecWell spaces and procedures include a contactless entry to the Co-Rec via the RecWell app’s bar-scanning feature (available for iPhone and Android devices) or via a self-swipe ID station. Fitness equipment has been moved to allow for safe social distancing and additional modifications have been made to fitness spaces, group fitness, locker rooms and towel service, aquatics, open recreation, sports programs and wellness programs to ensure the health and safety of members.
